Peter Hansen was born and raised in Yosemite National Park, California next door to Ansel Adams the world renowned photographer. He was surrounded by natural beauty at an early age. Early art instruction began with his Grandmother who was an artist in southern California. Under her tutelage and in this magnificent landscape Peter trained his eye to “catch the light” which is evident in his work.
As a Captain in the U.S. Army Peter spent three years in Europe. Vacations provided the opportunity to visit the great galleries and museums of Europe and study the master’s techniques of capturing light. Peter spent six years in hotel management and twenty-three years in computer sales. He found returning to his love of painting landscapes a good cure for stress. Now retired and living with his wife Patricia and the other love of his life, dog Daisy, on top of Conifer Mountain in Colorado Peter is once again surrounded by natural beauty. We are all richer for Peter’s outside views!
